Canusa Hershman Plastics Division acquires First State Plastics assets
January 30, 2012 – BALTIMORE, MD – Canusa Hershman Recycling Co. has announced that it has acquired certain assets of First State Plastics of New Castle, DE.
The acquired operations include a 98,000 square foot facility which houses post-industrial plastic grinding operations, a warehouse and office space as well as processing equipment and trucks. The addition of these assets will expand the presence of CHRC Plastics Division in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ethan Hershman, CEO of CHRC, stated “our plastics business has grown significantly over the past few years. We are excited about the addition of this new facility and expanding the services we can offer existing and future customers.”
Canusa Hershman Recycling Co. was formed in 2002 through the merging of the Fiber Group of Canusa Corporation and Hershman Recycling, Inc. CH has over 135 years of experience in materials processing and commodities trading.
CHRC and its affiliates market more than 2.5 million tons of recyclables annually, including more than 10 million pounds per month of post-industrial plastic.
